Dr. Rebecca Bailey, founder of Transitioning Families, is on a slow but steady track to rebuild the “Protected Space” that was lost to the North Bay wildfires. The small ranch owned by Dr. Bailey and her husband Charles Holmes has been the spot for many families to heal their hearts and souls after a major trauma in their families. One such family was that of Jaycee Dugard. This was a safe place for the family to begin the recovery process after Jaycee was found after 18 years of abduction and abuse. As animal-assisted work is an important piece of that recovery, all are grateful that the horses were rescued during the ordeal and will return to their home eventually.
